The latest title from Kyle Thompson, developer of popular graveyard keeping, the Crypt Custodian and Islets, has arrived in the form of Well Dweller, a gorgeous looking Metroidvania.

Starring Glimmer, your feathered friend, armed with a matchstick, you’ll need to explore a massive world to find the seven golden feathers to rescue your flock and defeat the evil Queen.

It releases on 22 September 2026 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles. It’s also available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Why not check out our review?

Well Dweller: Defeat the Creature from the Deep Boss Guide

The Creature from the Deep is located in the The Docks area of the game, coloured brown on the map. You’ll have to fight it before you gain access to the submarine vehicle needed to access The Depths area.

The Creature from the Deep shouldn’t give you too much trouble but it is quite aggressive, so you’ll want to keep an eye on it, and stay moving.

It has a range of attacks, usually created from its swordfish sword that it wields. As it uses it, it’ll likely create projectiles in the air, or shockwaves in the ground. It also charges across the screen from side to side.

Be sure to use all your dodging abilities; slide, hover, jump etc. You can easily hover over one of the shockwaves. Be sure to keep using your flaming vessels and check your trinket loadout if you’re struggling.

Defeating the Creature from the Deep will net you the “Into the Deep” achievement / trophy.
