The latest title from Kyle Thompson, developer of popular graveyard keeping, the Crypt Custodian and Islets, has arrived in the form of Well Dweller, a gorgeous looking Metroidvania.
Starring Glimmer, your feathered friend, armed with a matchstick, you’ll need to explore a massive world to find the seven golden feathers to rescue your flock and defeat the evil Queen.
It releases on 22 September 2026 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles. It’s also available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Why not check out our review?
Well Dweller: Silver Doll Boss Guide
You’ll take on the Silver Doll in the Queen’s Castle, the royal purple coloured area on the map. You can’t get here until you’ve located all seven golden feathers. You will encounter the Silver Doll as you seek out the three pairs of siblings that will help you access the Queen. The Silver Doll is guarding one of them.
The Silver Doll is something of a mini-boss, as the main boss for the Queen’s Castle is the Queen herself. That being said, you’ll have to keep your wits about you as the Silver Doll isn’t to be underestimated given it loves to through a whole load of projectiles at you.
It bounces around and creates spikes out of the ground when it lands, or damaging shards. It also throws balls of fire at you (goodness, gracious) as well spiky wheels. The wheels fire out to the sides of the arena and then roll towards you in the centre.
You will need to use combos of your evasive manoeuvrers as a number of the attacks last longer than one type of dodge. The wheels for example will likely be a combo of hover and dodge slide. If you can reach a wall you can grab onto it until that attack stops.

Defeating the Starsinger boss will net you the “Sharp and Shiny” achievement / trophy and then you can rescue one pair of Ilda’s siblings to help you reach the Queen.
