The latest title from Kyle Thompson, developer of popular graveyard keeping, the Crypt Custodian and Islets, has arrived in the form of Well Dweller, a gorgeous looking Metroidvania.

Starring Glimmer, your feathered friend, armed with a matchstick, you’ll need to explore a massive world to find the seven golden feathers to rescue your flock and defeat the evil Queen.

It releases on 22 September 2026 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles. It’s also available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Why not check out our review?

Well Dweller: Starsinger Boss Guide

You’ll take on the Starsinger boss in The Lookout Tower area of the game (the teal coloured area on the map).

The Starsinger throws a lot of projectiles at you with different attack patterns. Some can be a bit tricksy, or the boss will do a ground pound while you’re focused on the projectiles, so keep your wits about you.

He will flow black feathers at you too, these don’t seem to target you, but you’ll need to keep moving to keep out of their range.

With a pink flash to indicate it, the boss will create a circle of the black feathers. These will move to the ground where you are and encircle you. Use your dodge slide to enter it, then use the dodge slide to move out of it on the other side.

As it takes more damage, it’ll get more red-faced and increase the intensity of its attacks. Keep moving, dodging, and using your flame vessel. If you’re struggling check your trinket loadout. The trinket that provides a brief period of invulnerability after using an oil flask is a life saver.

Defeating the Starsinger boss will net you the “Song of the Stars” achievement / trophy.
