The latest title from Kyle Thompson, developer of popular graveyard keeping, the Crypt Custodian and Islets, has arrived in the form of Well Dweller, a gorgeous looking Metroidvania.

Starring Glimmer, your feathered friend, armed with a matchstick, you’ll need to explore a massive world to find the seven golden feathers to rescue your flock and defeat the evil Queen.

It releases on 22 September 2026 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles. It’s also available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Why not check out our review?

Well Dweller: Lida the Terrible Boss Guide

You’ll take on Lida the Terrible in the Graven Valley area of the game. It’s the grey area on the map.

You’ll be able to access the boss once you have got a ticket to the execution that is taking place as part of the story for that area.

She’ll start off by throwing projectiles at you and then some homing knives. Be sure to keep an eye on them, they follow your location and are a bit of a pain until you work out their movement.

Bear in mind that your dodge slide has a cooldown that might impact how you need to dodge.

At about the halfway mark, she’ll raise a table in the centre and create spikes on either side, reducing the space you’ve got to fight in. The main thing to watch out for now are the cleavers that fall down in sets of three, there’s a gap in the middle, but they drop fast. There’s also some knives that fall in a cone shape, it’s tricky, but aim to dodge at the point of the cone.

Once you’ve defeated Lida the Terrible, you’ll need to head to the room on the left from the boss area. Here you’ll find and ‘collect’ Egbert, unlocking the “Littlest Bird” achievement / trophy.
