Back in May of 2025 Gamer Social Club had the opportunity to preview Hotel Architect by Pathos Interactive in its early access launch. We are excited to share that as of May 14th 2026, Hotel Architect is officially out of early access with a full launch of 1.0.
And while Pathos Interactive rolled out several updates during early access, the team certainly didn’t hold back when it came to content for the full 1.0 launch. Let’s talk about what’s checked in and out.
Gameplay
Overall the basic gameplay for Hotel Architect has stayed pretty similar to it’s early access days. Players are challenged to build, design and manage hotels all across the globe. Start a campaign and unlock locations as you progress through objectives. Customize your hotel to your liking, design layouts and zones, hire staff and add amenities. Create a floor to wall resort that’s all yours.

Early Access Changes
During its first 11 months of early access, Hotel Architect received multiple updates, 4 of them being major content updates. A variety of new features, locations, and overall improvement developers say are all thanks to the community’s feedback.
Hotel Architect’s first major update, New York, came only a month after the early access release. It included a brand new New York map, additional floor building and new furniture and character outfits. The update also included a copy/paste feature which allows players to copy entire room layouts quickly.
The Las Vegas update introduced a brand new location along with Casinos and the new Croupier (casino dealer) staff type. Players can add casino zones to their hotel, furnished with fully simulated casino games like blackjack and roulette.
Bellhops and Room Service update was the last of 2025, introducing a new feature that allows guests to have items delivered directly to their rooms, including luggage. Players can unlock the room service amenity through the upgrade tree to provide these additional guest services. This update also included the addition of Bellhops. They are the only staff type that must be unlocked in upgrades to be hireable.
Managing your hotel became a little more in depth with the final major update before official release. The Management update brought a new staff training system where skill traits can be leveled up. Each staff member can gain up to 5 skills. By adding a training desk to the break room, players can purchase “traits” for staff. While prechosen traits can’t be deleted, you can balance bad traits with better ones.

1.0 New Additions
So with all that was added during Hotel Architect’s early access the developers still had more to add for the 1.0 release? YUP! The full release brings two new locations, new cashflow options, couples, gardens and balconies, custom sandbox mode and more!
Custom Sandbox Mode
Sandbox Mode has been around since Hotel Architect’s early access days, but it was only tied to certain locations. Players now have the opportunity to customize their own sandbox mode.
There are three different environments to build in: The Forest, The Desert, and The Snowland. Each location does come with its own temperature and challenges. Forest is neutral temperature, while desert is hot and requires AC, and snowland is well… cold and requires heaters. Like in other locations playing basic heaters and fans are available, but to get better quality ones you must upgrade in the tier list.
Players also have control over the size of their buildable space. Would you rather have a larger surface area or build a taller hotel? Maps support up to 2500 tiles wide, or up to 100 floors tall. Do take into consideration, the more tiles there are, the more taxing it will be on your computer. Unlike in location challenges, Custom outdoor walls and roofs are also options. Choose between 20 walls and 8 roofing choices.
Players also have the choice of which difficulty they want to attempt. Select casual for a more relaxed experience, standard for a balanced challenge, or challenging if you want to truly test your skills. There’s also a Custom option for anyone who prefers to tailor the rules entirely to their own playstyle. Difficulty has also been added to the campaign locations as well. Players can now choose between casual, standard and challenge on each location. Options for infinite money and unlocked upgrades can be chosen as well.
Two New Locations
Two new locations have been added to Hotel Architect, one being the biggest map yet! London, UK and Black Forest, Germany.
As you load into the London scenario you’ll realize this hotel is in need of some major help. The former owner wasn’t so great with his spending, and the hotel is on brink of bankruptcy. Can you beat the clock and bring this hotel back to life? On this map you’ll have the ability build across a 24 x 24 lot with 5 floors. Finishing challenges will unlock new rewards of decor, cosmetics and location themed food and drink.
Also known as ” Schwartzwald” in German, Black Forest is a mountainous and mysterious region in Southwest Germany. Black Forest is Hotel Architect’s largest map to date with a 4 floor mansion on a 48 x 48 lot. Players will have to take this forgotten place and beautify it once more. But there are challenges along the way, including.. gh-gh-GHOSTS!
Couples
Traveling alone can be fun, but sometimes its better together! Although not considered new guest types, couples will share a room meaning it must accommodate them both. Two single or one double bed to share must be provided, along with luggage racks for each. Couples will be of the same guest type and do most activities around the hotel together. One tip I will give is, don’t add a single towel rack to a room tailored for multiple people, add the big towel rack as it leaves less chance of leaving the room without towels.

Upgrades People, Upgrades!
In its early access phase, Hotel Architect used an upgrade tree arranged by different moving parts of a hotel. If you had enough points and the previous item in the web was unlocked, you could get it. Upgrades are now split into five tiers, each tied to a different guest type. Players earn upgrade points for a specific tier whenever a guest checks out. Easy to please Backpackers are Tier I, with Sporty at II, Sunbather and Business at III, Brat at IV and finally the hardest to please Upper Crusts at V. Don’t forget the critic also adds points with their reviews, it will be applied to the highest open tier.
Final Thoughts
What truly stands out about Hotel Architect is Pathos Interactive dedication, a team that continues to listen to community feedback and shape the game into something players genuinely want to experience. When I wrote my preview around this time last year, I noted that Hotel Architect developers were actively taking player feedback into account as they continued development on the project. In a recent Steam news post, Pathos Interactive said that the early access journey has felt like a collaboration with the Hotel Architect community and that many additions can be attributed to their feedback.
Whether you enjoy creative building and decorating, strategic planning, or just the satisfaction of running a thriving hotel empire, Hotel Architect delivers an experience that keeps checking you in.
Hotel Architect is available now on Steam for PC, as well as NVIDIA GForce Now. Players can get a 22% full release discount until May 28th.

Thank you to the devs at Pathos Interactive for the key.
