In this guide, we will show how to easily locate the item required to fix the speedboat in Silver Pines. Available from around halfway through the game, the speedboat allows you to fast travel around a limited number of locations by water.

Fix the Boat and Unlock Fast Travel

Please note: to follow the below guide you must have fixed the ferry. If you haven’t yet fixed the ferry, please see our guide, there’s a link in the footer below.

You’ll come to this location to find the Boat Workshop with a boat engine inside that needs repair. It’s right next to the front door of The Silver Gazette:

Inside is a tape that tells you head to the Miner Diner, which is the location where you started the game back on the original island. There’s a shack right below the diner, head there, and you’ll need to use code 1972 on the padlock, this is a number from the plaque inside the diner itself. Inside is the gear:

Head back to the engine at the boat shack to repair the engine. Then carry the engine to the boat itself:

You’ll now be able to fast travel to the locations with the blue boat icons here:
