In this guide, we will show how to easily locate the shovel in Silver Pines. Available late in the game, the shovel allows you to dig up items from mud patches that you previously couldn’t reach, as well as being a formidable melee weapon.

Find the Shovel from the Hole Digging Man
Please note: At the time of writing, we are seeking to establish if you need to visit the man digging the hole multiple times to unlock the ability to access his shovel. We encourage you to visit him at every opportunity just in case the unlock is tied to repeated dialogue encounters. We will update the guide in due course.
You’ll have likely come across a man digging a hole several times in the northwest of Downtown Silver Pines.
At the point of the game where you’re able to take the cable car to the top of the mountain, return to where he’s been digging. It’s in this location:
The hole the man has been digging will finally be dug, jump in for a look if you’d like:
The man himself will have disappeared but you can now head inside his caravan. Just inside his caravan, you’ll see the next inventory upgrade hanging up on the left, as well as the shovel off to the right by the bed:
The shovel will allow you to dig the mud patches around the map. There are some of these located around the church and we recommend you re-visit that area to secure some extra, important items. Now, where on earth did the shovel digging man go?!
