As well as many Skulls and Terminals to find in Halo: Campaign Evolved, there are several miscellaneous achievements / trophies to unlock. In this Hot Streak achievement guide we will show you how to complete a level with the Floor Is Lava Skull, activated without jumping or dying. This achievement is actually a lot of fun to do, and it can be done very quickly if you know where you’re going. I did it on my first try.
Mission: The Silent Cartographer
Note: It’s possible to do this at the same time as Map Quest, see our guide for the requirements for that achievement too.
This achievement / trophy on mission 4, The Silent Cartographer. You can unlock this on any difficulty but if you’re replaying for achievements / trophies, be sure to have the game set on easy difficulty to make your life much easier. You will need to play the whole mission rather than starting at Rally Point Bravo or later.
Before we start, a few tips:
- Sprinting seems to stop you taking damage, only walking incurs damage
- Sprint passed every enemy, on easy you won’t be killed
- This guide will make a lot more sense if you’re familiar with the mission. For new players, enjoy this legendary mission first. Each attempt at this will take 10 minutes maximum.
- Controller players: move your right hand to the bottom of your controller to avoid muscle memory making you press any buttons you shouldn’t.
From the start of the mission, you will disembark the Pelican dropship. Instead of going the clockwise way around the island the game wants you to go, turn and go counterclockwise. You’re going to head to the door opening control before being instructed to do so.
Head up the beach and when you see the Covenant forces to the right, sprint passed them, then passed the Hunters and into the Forerunner structure when you reach it. Sprint passed the Hunters inside and hit the control panel:
From there, drop down the cliff and grab a flipped Warthog and get back on the main path back to this location and drive inside. Park your Warthog on the top floor so you can jump back in it later:
Sprint passed all enemies to descend the structure to reach the objective panel. Press it:
After the cutscene, it’s a simple case of following your path back out of the structure. This is straightforward, but the one enemy to be mindful of is the Elite with an Energy Sword. Make sure you sprint around them to get out.
When you’re on the top floor, get back in the Warthog and drive out and left into the cave. Stay there till the Pelican arrives, then drive to the ramp and climb on – just make sure not to hit jump at the final hurdle!:
Once the cutscene has played you’ll unlock your Hot Streak achievement / trophy, congratulations!
