Unlock Every Weapon and Transmutation

There are three melee weapons, three ranged weapons and three transmutations to find in Valor Mortis. They are listed below in the order you find them.

Finding every weapon and transmutation will unlock the Arsenal Absolute achievement / trophy. I suspect you can’t miss these as they’re pretty centrally placed to the plot, but it’s good to know when you can expect to find them as many weapons and abilities are tied to other achievements / trophies.

Melee Weapon: Saber (1 / 3)

Your starting weapon. You’ll get this automatically early on, near the beginning of the game.

Transmutation: Fire (1 / 3)

When you arrive at the first Lantern (like a bonfire in Souls games). Head forward and crawl under a tree branch ahead of you. Watch out for the enemy coming out of the water ahead of you. Once safe, head to the right and through a cage. You’ll see a cart in front of you with a path to the right. On the left is a souls packet pick up, and to the right up the slope is your first transmutation, nestled in the chest of body.

Ranged Weapon: Pistol (1 / 3)

You should find this easily as you progress. In the Valley of Ashes, you’ll reach a train cart that has the “An Unheard Farewell” side quest in it, next to the ‘Demolished Path’ Lantern. You’ll need to make your way down the nephtoglobin structures and destroyed bridge and train carriages.

You’ll pass through a carriage on the way down that has the pistol inside.

Melee Weapon: Rapier (2 / 3)

Once you’ve made it to the Abandoned Church (after defeating the General Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer boss), you’ll leave out of a door on the left of the entrance. This is past James and the workbench where you can upgrade your weapons.

As you head out, take a right down the path and you’ll reach a courtyard. You should spot the nephtoglobin growth across from you, with the rapier sticking out of a body in the centre.

Ranged Weapon: Blunderbuss (2 / 3)

In the Fallen Village area, Chapter 3, you’ll make your way through the area until you reach a new enemy, the Volunteer. These are tall, quick, and powerful enemies that you’ll encounter on the regular going forward.

Behind it is another carriage holding the Blunderbuss weapon.

Transmutation: Stasis (2 / 3)

You’ll get this in Chapter 4, Caverns. You’ll reach a large room where you need to rotate a platform so you can get across a gap. When you turn it for the first time, it will create a bridge to the right. Jump on and follow the cave around to spot the transmutation trapped in nephotglobin ahead of you. You’ll need this to progress further.

Ranged Weapon: Musket (3 / 3)

In Chapter 5, the Vale of Wrath, you’ll reach the ‘Under the Bridge’ Lantern. Continue exploring. You’ll eventually happen upon a fort that you’ll need to make your way through. You’ll reach a carriage that has the musket inside.

Melee Weapon: Claymore (3 / 3)

During Chapter 6, Cursed Hollow. You’ll make your way through the poisoned town and eventually reach a chapel. Inside the chapel is the Claymore weapon.

Transmutation: Shield (3 / 3)

During Chapter 9, the University, you’ll make your way to the top of the building up an elevator. At the top is the final transmutation, Shield. You must get this to progress as you need it to progress past the green poison areas.

Once you’ve grabbed the Shield Transmutation you’ll unlock the Absolute Arsenal achievement / trophy and will be fully equipped to take on anything thrown at you, as well as head back and mop up any areas you had to go past initially (particularly those poison areas.
