We are just starting to come out the other side of Summer Game Fest, and what we like to call “Showcase Week”, but there are still loads of announcements and reveals to cover. One of these is the new gameplay trailer for the survival horror game After Hell Freezes Over, slated to be coming to PC later this year.
Check out the new After Hell Freezes Over gameplay trailer below, which was revealed at the Six One Indie Showcase May 2026.
Developed by Deathless Games and published by Retrovibe, After Hell Freezes Over is an open-world survival horror game set in a frozen wasteland inhabited by horrifying creatures. Struggle against the cold as you wander the desolate environment, collecting supplies, building a base, and crafting weapons to defend yourself from the things that lurk in the darkness.
Loot your surroundings for wood to build fires and food, and do your best to avoid hazards and enemies as you investigate abandoned shelters and facilities, while dynamic weather whips up around you. Find clues to your enemies’ weaknesses, and slowly uncover where these creatures came from and what happened to your world.

The game’s detailed pixel art, monochromatic colour palette, and somewhat unsettling UI depicting several of your organs make for a striking visual impression, and coupled with nightmarish creatures and gruelling survival gameplay, it has us thinking of John Carpenter’s film The Thing and H.P. Lovecraft’s novel At the Mountains of Madness.
Something tells us that this game isn’t going to have a happy ending.
After Hell Freezes Over is coming to PC in 2026.
