Laudanum Side Quest Guide

You’ll pick up the “Laudanum” side quest during Chapter 7, The Outskirts. This is where you’re making your way to the Lighthouse to meet The Shrike.
As you make your way through the area, you’ll parkour across some partially sunken houses / wooden buildings. Once you reach the otherside you’ll come to a cross road with a noticeboard in the centre. On the right, you can head up and through a barn to carrry on, or you can head to the left. For the side quest, you’ll want to head to the left.
After you’ve made your way through to the floor below, you can head right to go through a house and to the Market Square Lantern. Instead, head to the left, this will take you to a Nephtoglobin wall on a bridge that you can unblock by shooting the weak point. Just before the bridge, on the right is a house with someone calling out to you.
Approach the house and interact with the door to activate the side quest. The woman inside is requesting a bottle of Laudanum to help some sick children in the house.
If you head to the left side of the house, you can head round the back of the house and up to a door to the upper floor where you can speak to the orphans in the house. This will present you with another means to solve the quest.
Head back the way you came, and go through the house to the Market Square Lantern. From there, head left down the road that runs past the poison spots. You will need to navigate the enemies and the poison to go into another barn, and up on to the next floor.
You can activate a Nephtoglobin pole to swing across to get to a barn across the road below. Head through and down, taking out any enemies in your way. Head out of the barn to the right so you can enter a house in front of you.
Watching for any enemies, head upstairs in the house and look to the back corner of the space, next to what looks like a stove or boiler. You should see a hole in the floor. Drop down, and grab the bottle of Laudanum from the bedside table
Now, return to where you collected the quest and speak to the lady, and make your choice.
She will tell you you can come check on the children in a little while. You will need to rest at a Lantern (or die) before you can return.
Once you return, the door to the house will be open and you will see what has become of her, and the children, completing the quest.
You’ll unlock the “A Bitter Cure” achievement / trophy for completing the quest.
