inKONBINI – Chief Matsuda’s Story Trophy Guide

inKONBINI may be a convenience store simulator at first glance; however, its main focus is on the interaction with your valued customers and how their visit to HONKI PONKI has impacted the lives of its workers as well as their own. As such, many of the trophies relate to learning about the customers, their lives, and how we can best help them. It’s important to speak to our customers whenever they call out to us. Several trophies will require more than one playthrough, though luckily, inKONBINI isn’t a very long game. These guides will hopefully help you in acquiring these trophies, much like Makoto helps the customers during her 7-day stay at HONKI PONKI. Here is our guide for all the trophies related to Chief Matsuda’s Story.

Check out our inKONBINI Review for our full thoughts on the game.

Chief Matsuda’s Story

There are four trophies: Self-Made Luck, Shipper’s Delight, The More, the Meowier (WORK IN PROGRESS)and Who is Matsuda? related to the Chief.

Please note that the trophy, The More The Meowier, still eludes me. I have a feeling that it requires a second playthrough, one where Aunt Hina is not the focus of Chief Matsuda’s thoughts, but instead his cat Mimi. Perhaps not talking about Aunt Hina around the Chief could do that trick? Regardless, sorry for the inconvenience.

Shift 1: Monday, August 23rd

While Store is Closed:

  • Find the postcard by inspecting the Documents above the office desk. Turn the card around to find a phone number in the back.
  • Call the phone number: 335-111, which will get you the Who is Matsuda? trophy at the end of the day.
  • Next, make sure to stock Tokyo Pop and Shirakdo Noodles before opening the store.

Open the Store:

  • Make sure to find the correct can of cat food: “Cat Food Special with Chicken.”

Shift 3: Wednesday, August 25th

  • DO NOT stock milk.
  • Instead, you can find the preferred treat misplaced in the canned food section and stock it in the pet food section.

Speak to the Chief once you’re done setting up the store for the evening.

  • Recommend him a ramen (I chose Ramen Express Luxe).
  • Discuss all the topics with him while he’s eating, especially about the strange man.
  • Discuss his life, so it prompts him to look for treats for Mimi.

After he gets up to do some shopping, don’t forget to clean up the ramen and the chair he was sitting on.

  • Do not offer him milk. If you stocked it, then you won’t have the opportunity to talk him out of it.
  • “Maybe Auntie is your sign,” we’re cosplaying as Cupid.

Shift 5: Friday, August 27th

  • offer him a frozen dinner. Gyoza or Yakisoba will work
  • Speak to him after his transaction. Make sure to exhaust all the conversation options.

Shift 6: Saturday, August 28th

  • Get 40 different drinks of at least 4 kinds.
  • After getting the drinks to the Chief’s truck, he’ll tell you about his future.

At this point, Chief Matsuda will start to tell you of how you’ve impacted his life and what he plans to do in the future, allowing you to receive the two trophies: Self-Made Luck and Shipper’s Delight. Congrats! He’ll also tell you that due to your influence and Aunt Hina’s, he’s decided to become a gardener!

Again, I have a feeling that without this influence with Aunt Hina, he might’ve chosen to focus on Mimi, allowing you to get the trophy, The More, The Meowier, maybe…
