Leveling up your Visions is just as important as leveling up your party. Along with permanent stat boosts like more HP, MP, Spirit, and Stamina, they also unlock a range of powerful skills you can equip using your AP. You need Mastery Points (MRP) to level up your Visions, and while you can earn them naturally at the end of every battle, you can also speed up the process with a few options. So here is our Mastery Point Farming guide for Final Fantasy Resonance, helping you level up your Visions quicker and unlock The First Step Towards Mastery and Vision Connoisseur achievements/trophies for leveling your first and eighth Vision to Max Mastery Rank, respectively.

Mastery Point Farming Guide
We’ve got some tips to help increase the amount of MRP you earn at the end of every fight, from early-game know-how to carry you through to the end, all the way to late-game farming spots.
1. ABS (Always Be Staggering)
Always try to end every fight with a Stagger or Sweeping Stagger to earn extra Mastery Points for your equipped Visions. This is basic stuff that the game tutorialises, but it’s easy to overlook, especially if you are deep into farming enemies to level.

The key thing is to keep an eye on the turn order at the top of the screen, and make sure that you defeat the last enemy during the Bonus Turn caused by the Stagger. This may mean having party members perform other actions, like defending or using items, to avoid killing your last enemy and losing out on extra MRP.
2. Magic Pot Luck
In some of the dungeons across Lapis, you will encounter various Magic Pot enemies, a staple enemy from the FF series that fans will likely remember.

This is one of several gimmick fights Square Enix likes to put in their JRPGs. You need to give the Magic Pot enemy the item it asks for by choosing the item from the Item tab and moving your cursor over to use it on them. The cost will be high, as they often ask for rarer items like Ethers, but they give you a lot of MRP at the end, so it is definitely worth it. Just make sure to not attack them, so have your party block until the Magic Pot says what it wants.

They don’t appear as a random encounter, but can be found as a physical, sparkling pot in the dungeon, so you can choose when to start the fight. This is very handy, as it gives you the chance to make sure your party has the Visions you want equipped to level up. It’s an ideal time to put those higher-level Visions on to help reach their max level.
There are only a few Magic Pots in the whole game, and they can only be fought once each, so use them wisely.
3. Cactuar Cash Out
While the Magic Pots are a limited resource for lots of MRP, there is another, pricklier Final Fantasy icon who is worth encountering.

The Cactuar family of enemies can be found during random encounters in various spots across Lapis, and while they are a rare encounter and tricky to beat, they are worth fighting for the MRP you’ll earn.
- Cactuar: can be found on the World Map in Dirnado, Zoldaad, and Gronoa.
- Metal Cactuar: can be found on the World Map in Mysidia.
- Gigantuar: can be found on the World Map in Gronoa and Pharm.
- Metal Gigantuar: can be found on the World Map in Pharm.
The general rule is to Stagger the regular Cactuars and just deal damage to the Metal variety to beat them and earn your MRP prize.
Not a regular source of MRP, but good to know where to find these surprised-looking fellas.
4. Late Game Locations
Another simple one here: Late-game area dungeon enemies consistently award more MRP than anywhere else.
The two spots we would recommend are The Crystal Tower, where the end of the game take place, and Dragon’s Maw, a level 55 Dungeon found at the southern tip of the Kingdom of Pharm.

In either of these locations, fights will reward you with between 100 and 300 MRP, making them easily the best places to farm.
5. Victoria, The Vision
The following tip allows your party members to help boost how much MRP their Visions earn considerably.
During Chapter 5, ‘Scars of Time’, the ‘Victoria Revivified’ side quest becomes available and can be started near the shops in Mysidia, the Magiapolis. The quest introduces Victoria, an NPC who becomes one of your Visions once you complete it, and has a skill that we desperately need.

At Mastery Rank 7, Victoria unlocks a skill called ‘MRP Gain +50%’, which boosts any party member’s earned MRP to 1.5 times what they were originally earning! Of course, party members, both active and on the bench, either have to have unlocked this skill with Victoria and have it equipped or have Vicotria as their Vision for it to be active.

This alone will drastically cut the amount of time needed to level up your Visions and unlock The First Step Towards Mastery and Vision Connoisseur achievements/trophies, and make it that much easier to get those other powerful skills unlocked for your party, like Terra’s ‘Break the Limit’ and Tronne’s ‘Half MP Cost’.
6. The Mastery Pendant
Once you have upgraded the Mysidia Radar on board your airship, The Enterprise, to the max, you’ll be able to find the Mastery Pendant, one of the last hidden treasures.

When equipped, the wearer earns double the amount of MRP they would normally earn!
