Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen – Hal’s Treasure Hunt Quest Guide

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is the DLC to the high-fantasy, open-world RPG by Capcom. It’s a beloved IP with a good following, including us! It’s the type of game where curiosity may kill the cat, but only if you’re not careful. Most of the time, curiosity will reward you with cool side-quests, new items, or collectibles! The game doesn’t tell you about them until you’ve found them, so you must be curious!

However, no matter how much you comb through the world of DD2 and its new area, Norgan, you are bound to have missed something, much like us! But here’s one cool thing we found in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.

Check out our Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Review to get our full thoughts on the game.

Hal’s Treasure Hunt Quest Guide

There is a very good reason why you’ll want to do this quest. It gives you the Frostbright Ring that completely takes away any of the negative effects on your stamina due to cold, making whiteouts a “breeze”.

The reward for Hal’s Treasure Hunt quest

Before you’re able to undertake the Hal’s Treasure Hunt quest, you need to have completed Village Defense, where Dorin and others will attempt to heal Hal. After he’s all healed up, he’ll come up to you regarding some posts he saw in the northern part of Norgan, and he would like for you to investigate them.

There are four locations:

The order in which you do them doesn’t matter; I only did it this way because I had a portcrystal set near the first one

The point of entry is the Eternal Portcrystal located west of the mountain stronghold. However, it’s really dependent on whether you have a Norgan portcrystal elsewhere, as I did.

(This next step is skippable, as far as I know)

Once you’ve gone around to find all four posts, head back to Hal, letting him know that you’ve investigated it. He still can’t really figure out what it all means, but he suggests that all 4 posts are pointing towards one location.

The four posts are indeed pointing towards one location. By creating a cross in between all four posts, it’ll mark the location of the treasure!

Once you’ve retrieved the Rusted Ring, bring it back to Hal, and he’ll turn it into a Frostbright Ring. If only we could duplicate it…(spoilers, you cannot, I tried.)
