Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is the DLC to the high-fantasy, open-world RPG by Capcom. It’s a beloved IP with a good following, including us! It’s the type of game where curiosity may kill the cat, but only if you’re not careful. Most of the time, curiosity will reward you with cool side-quests, new items, or collectibles! The game doesn’t tell you about them until you’ve found them, so you must be curious!
However, no matter how much you comb through the world of DD2 and its new area, Norgan, you are bound to have missed something, much like us! But here’s one cool thing we found in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen.
How to Unlock the unique Lupinity Augment

Typically, the augments that the Arisen and the Pawns learn are solely dependent on the masteries of the different vocations. However, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen introduces a brand new augment that is unique to the Arisen. The Lupinity augment reduces stamina consumed by jumping and dashing while accompanying the hound, Freki.
To get Lupinity, you’ll need to have a good relationship with Ilsa, the hound’s guardian, as well as Freki. In order to accomplish this, you’ll need to complete various quests leading up to the final quest “A Hound and His Bone”, which will reward you with the scroll that teaches the augment.

The Quests
- In for a Hare, in for a Hound: a straightforward quest where Ilsa asks you to locate a hare. You then give the hare meat to Freki, and she’ll lead you to treasure, unlocking the Hound mechanic.
- A Direworld Delicacy: you’ll need a tiny bit of investigative work as you attempt to find out what treat Freki wants. You can purposely give her random stuff, and Ilsa will help you deduce what Freki wants, as well as asking her father, Dorin. You’ll later need to hunt down a snowdeer, get its bone, and give it to Freki.
- A Hound and His Bone
Completing A Hound and His Bone will cement you as a friend of the dire wolves, allowing you the full use of having this good doggo as your companion during your adventures through Norgan. Not only will he lead you to goodies if you give him some meat, but he’ll also now give you a passive buff!
A Hound and His Bone
Ilsa will inform you that Skoll’s gone missing, and you’ll be tasked to figure out where. She’ll suggest asking her grandfather, Hal, and he’ll show you the way. (Please note: that this might be a bit different if you haven’t completed the quest where you heal Hal of his injuries)

After locating the bone, head back to the settlement, and Ilsa will give the bone to Freki to use to track Skoll down. So follow her.

You’ll need to carry the unconscious Skoll all the way back home. You’ll definitely be attacked along the way, but you can drop her down and pick her back up when it’s done. From my experience, I don’t think Skoll can actually get further hurt or die during this process.

After bringing Skoll back home, Ilsa will reward you with the Treatise on Lupinity for being such a great friend of the direwolves. Learn it from your menu, and then you can equip your new augment.
Congrats on being a doggo’s best friend!
