Duskfade is a 3D action platformer inspired by the classics of the PS2 era, from Jak & Daxter to Kingdom Hearts, set in the fantastical world of Tearfeld. After a giant Clock Tower suddenly appears, trapping his sister inside, our young hero Zirian sets off with his clockwork companion Cuckoo to break the chains sealing the ominous structure. With various challenges, collectibles, and secrets scattered across the game, we are here to lend a hand with some helpful guides. So, here is our Master of Melody Trophy Guide for Duskfade!

Master of Melody Trophy Guide

The Master of Melody trophy/achievement is unlocked by returning all of the Music Boxes to Arpeggio, the butterfly-like NPC whom you meet in the Starstone Mines region and who speaks in rhyme. You can find them back in the inn at Tick Town.
While technically true, you won’t unlock the trophy/achievement until you have beaten the game, started up your save file, and spoken to Arpeggio. This is because you need a full track list for it to pop, and some songs are unlocked by progression. But that means you still need to find all 17 Music Boxes, so let’s get to it!

Also, you need to solve a Simon Says Puzzle to collect each Music Box, so we have provided all the solutions, just in case.
Below are links to all of the regions that have a Music Box, in the order you reach them:
- Tick Town
- Ezarus Forest
- Scorched Grove
- Starstone Mines
- Mount Cinder
- Meridian Village
- Lantern Port
- Apprentice’s Wing
- Great Library
- Canal Hamlet
- Celestial Kingdom
- Royal Highroads
- Auric Palace
- Deepthorne
- Stonetusk Canyon
- Clockmaker’s Rest
- Desert of the Last Memory
Tick Town

You’ll need the Pendulum tool, which you get from Tailord in the Clockwork Academy region, to get this one.
From the Faast Travel Point, smash through the Orange Crystals blocking the archway, and follow the rail to the top of the stairs where the exit to Canal Hamlet is.

Go through the garden on the right, and next to the chicken coop is a Music Box.

Ezarus Forest

You’ll need the Pendulum tool, which you get from Tailord in the Clockwork Academy region, to get this one.
Near the start of the region, you’ll reach a village with houses you need to climb up to progress. Instead, make your way to the wooden ramp below the way forward, and go into the cave just beyond it.

Look for a side passage and smash the Orange Crystals blocking the exit, and behind them you’ll find the Music Box hidden away.

Scorched Grove

From the Fast Travel Point, drop down and ride the rail to the end of its path, and continue forward until you see a large wooden cylinder in front of you. Look to your right and use the Hookshot and platforms to navigate the tall trees.

Partway through, you’ll reach a patch of ground with a flower to bounce on. Use the flower and continue through the trees to reach the remains of a building. Inside is the Music Box.

Starstone Mines

Head down to the Clockmaker’s Workshop, and use the Hookshot points out front to reach the ramp.

Turn around to see the opening at the top of the nearest tower, and use the Hookshot points to get up there. Inside is the Music Box.

Mount Cinder

From the checkpoint near where you bump into Cloadie, look to your left in the lava and jump onto the large platform. Avoid the flamethrowers and use the rotating gold cog to reach the Music Box on a raised platform.

Meridian Village

Once you reach the village, head to the group of buildings the sundial point is facing and platform across them to find the Music Box on top of the tallest building.

Lantern Port

After crossing over the sea and reaching the entrance to the built-up part of the region, go to the left and look for a Wall Grab section in the wall.

At the top, jump across to the higher ledge, and then triple jump across to the other side. On the lower ledge is the Music Box.

Apprentice’s Wing

After smashing through some Orange Crystals, you’ll reach a large room with water at the bottom and several bookshelf towers in it.

Ride the Floating Walls and use your Hookshot to reach the tallest tower to find the Music Box.

Great Library

From the Fast Travel Point, head across to the ledge and hit the gear to raise a bookshelf pillar to get across to the taller pillar.

Platform around and use the floating book to reach the top of the pillar to find the Music Box.

Canal Hamlet

When you reach the village before you platform across the giant purple crystal, head to the house right at the back and on the right. Climb up the nearby crates, and you should spot a wooden balcony on the other side of the building, where the Music Box is waiting.

Celestial Kingdom

After you grind a rail with a checkpoint halfway through it, you’ll reach a platform arena where a bunch of Inkies will ambush you. Deal with them, and continue up the stone platforms up to the higher part.

Platform between the stone blocks to the top of the highest one, where the Music Box awaits.

Royal Highroads

From the Fast Travel Point, turn the sundial ramp around to face the large floating island to the right of the two crystal-topped pillars. Traverse across and climb to the top of the first island you land on, then look over the edge of it to find the Music Box sitting on a hidden ledge.
The pattern is: GREEN – BLUE – RED – YELLOW – BLUE – GREEN
Auric Palace

Close to the start of the region, you’ll use a rotating walkway to reach a round arena and fight some Inkies. Afterwards, jump down onto the floating stone platform to progress and turn around.

You’ll see some electrified platforms leading to a ledge below the arena. On the ledge is the Music Box.
The pattern is: RED – YELLOW – GREEN – GREEN – BLUE – RED – YELLOW
Deepthorne

Near the start of the region, you’ll use some moving platforms to cross a ravine full of purple crystals, dodging some electric traps on the way. On the other side, head up the stairs and beat the Inkies waiting for you.

After the fight, run to the back of the arena and instead of using the Launch Pad, look over the edge to see some hidden ledges and some flowers to bounce on. Reach the furthest ledge to find the Music Box.
The pattern is: YELLOW – BLUE – RED – GREEN – YELLOW – GREEN – RED
Stonetusk Canyon

From the Fast Travel Point, head across the electrified bridge and defeat the Inkies waiting on the other side. After the fight, use the Launch Pad to land on one of the nearby buildings with the round flat roofs.

Jump between the roofs to reach a high rock ledge where a Music Box is waiting.
The pattern is: GREEN – GREEN – BLUE – RED – YELLOW – RED – BLUE
Clockmaker’s Rest

Once you have crossed over some rotatable walkways to another set of ruins, look for a doorway to some broken steps. Platform up to the top, and then jump across to the other ruins where a Memory is.

Run along the ledge and jump on top of the pillar to grab this Music Box.
The pattern is: BLUE – RED – YELLOW – YELLOW – GREEN – BLUE – RED – RED
Desert of the Last Memory

During a gliding sequence, you’ll reach a tower with a spinning pillar at its centre. When you go through the other archway, go past the Launch Pad and look over the edge to spot a lower ledge. Drop down and go through the doorway. Inside is the Music Box.
The pattern is: GREEN – RED – YELLOW – GREEN – BLUE – YELLOW – RED – BLUE
