During today’s ID@XBOX Showcase, October 2026, we received a new look at the upcoming remaster of The Wolf Among Us. This definitive edition will be releasing October 29, 2026. With just a few days to go, Telltale is showing us a new look at Bigby Wolf.
While he may still be a bit hideous, the new look also feels more in line with what many people may have imagined for The Big Bad Wolf. Bigby’s look isn’t the only thing that has had an overhaul. The Wolf Among Us: Remastered of the game will come with an all-new Noir Mode, additional behind the scenes content, and new scenes that were previously deleted from the original 2013 release.
For those unaware, The Wolf Among Us has players taking control of Bigby Wolf, the protector of Fabletown. Fabletown is an area of New York City with a bit of glam keeping the fables hidden from the every day mundie (humans). Bigby will do all he can to explore the murder of a fable under his watch. But more importantly he’ll try to find out what is putting the residents in danger. Who better to be the law than a former villain of sorts? But can he also keep his wolf side under control? Or will his bestial instincts get the better of him?
Save on the Remaster
The new story trailer wasn’t the only thing that Telltale announced today. There were also launch discounts announced on their social media. For those who own the original, they may be able to save up to 50% on the price of the remaster. Unfortunately, for those who play on console, these savings are only if you own the game digitally. For those on PlayStation, it also comes with an additional caveat of PlayStation Plus.
It’s been less than two years than I personally have played the original and it launched me in to reading all of the Fables comics the game is based on. To say that The Wolf Among Us had stood the test of time would be an understatement. So now it will be great to see how this remaster stacks up with the new additions. With the sequel due out next year, it’s a good time to visit or revisit the game that put the Fables on the map for many.
The Wolf Among Us: Remastered will release on October 29, 2026 on Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. The Nintendo Switch edition has been delayed indefinitely with more information to come.
