Today’s ID@XBOX Showcase was full of exciting reveals of new titles, as well as new games arriving to XBOX for the first time. Many Game Pass titles were also confirmed including Croak, A Game About Digging a Hole Together and Red Kiss – you can catch-up on all the reveals here.
The show kicked off with a world premiere reveal of an intriguing upcoming space journey, Magenta Down. Following a ship crash landing, Magenta Down sets players off on an atmospheric adventure across a harsh planet, where with limited resources you must locate and save your crew.

Developer, 2 Ton Studios said that creating atmosphere is a fundamental part of the game’s design: “We wanted to create an atmospheric journey about moving forward and enduring the consequences of the decisions you make along the way. For us, that’s what makes an adventure interesting, facing difficult decisions with imperfect knowledge and living with the repercussions.” (credit: XBOX Wire)
Players will need to take the environment into consideration when exploring the planet. Extended periods outdoors in storms will increase your radiation exposure levels and visibility, you can hear the tick of the Geiger counter in the trailer. There will also be the need to fight to survive including creatures in tense, precision timed combat situations.
Late in the trailer, a flare appears to go off in the distance, signalling a lost crewmate and the next waypoint for our yet unnamed protagonist. There are very positive early signs for Magenta Down and it’ll be one on our radar for 2027.
