In this guide we will show you how to solve the first Trial in The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline. This supernatural horror walking simulator takes place across an opulent manor and hellish space, the Dive. This trial takes place in the Dive.
First Trial Solution
Below, we’ll show you the solution and how to complete the tricky Trial and complete Chapter 1. I strongly advise that you do not simply enter the solution below, as by exploring this area you can find Charon and Livia, unlocking an achievement / trophy for each.
Chapter 1
The first Trial takes place during your first visit to the Dive, during Chapter 1. At the very end of the Chapter, after you have moved through various areas talking to the ‘Mysterious Voice’, you will reach the Trial which is a circular vault-like door with red tentacles in the centre:
The trial is based on the seven deadly sins. You are required to match the icons for the deadly sins with the corresponding images for the seven virtues. To find the images, you need to explore the surrounding area of the Trial. Following the blood-like trails will lead you to 14 paintings, like the below (see left):
Once you have explored the space and found all 14 paintings, head back to the door. You need to ensure the red (deadly sin) animal icons are on the outside, with the corresponding white (virtue) animal icon on the inner side. You want to start at Roman Numeral number ‘I’, which is the bottom right space.
You want to get all of the red icons in place first, before entering the white icons. Getting the red icons in is easy, then you will want to utilise the spare space to rotate the white icons into the correct order. Once they are in the correct order, you can rotate the whole puzzle till they’re in the correct location. The icons you need in are as follows:
- I: red – cheetah; white – stag
- II: red – hog; white – squirrel
- III: red – wolf; white – dog
- IV: red – ram; white – elephant
- V: red – doe; white – horse
- VI: red – snake; white – bird
- VII: red – lion; white – lamb
The completed solution will look like this:
Once you have entered the correct solution, the door will open and Chapter 1 will finish. Congratulations!
