A brand new Kirby title has been announced at the latest Nintendo Direct, revealing a new 3D adventure. The game, titled Kirby and the World Beyond is scheduled to release in Spring 2027.
While everyone has been scrabbling to purchase their new Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary edition consoles, and Switch 2 Pro controllers, Nintendo has been showing that they’re not just the Zelda machine.
At their latest Nintendo Direct, which followed off the footsteps of a special Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Direct, the previous day, we got a look at new titles from some of their other franchises, such as the brand-new, Metroid Ravenous.
Kirby closed out the show, with a nearly 3-minute look at the World Beyond. You can check out the reveal trailer below:
There’s not a great deal of news released for the game so far, but from the trailer we can see Kirby exploring a lush green world. We get to see the trademark absorption abilities, turning Kirby into a Knight and other characters. There’s a battle with King DeDeDe where his defeat creates a hole in the sky???
With a new floating companion, Kirby acquires a powerful sword that allows them to cut through the fabric of reality itself, revealing the titular, ‘World Beyond’.
I wonder what surprises awaits Kirby. We’ll have to wait until Spring 2027 to try it out.
