During today’s Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, Nintendo have revealed that a new Switch 2 console and Pro Controller, celebrating The Legend of Zelda’s magical 40-year history will release on 29 October 2026.
Check out the reveal trailer below:
Zelda Switch 2 Console
The new Switch 2 features Joy-Con2 in shades of metallic green, alongside the Triforce emblazoned on the system Dock and the left Joy-Con2. It looks really smart and I’m seriously considering whether I should be trading my launch edition in for this one.

Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller and Carrying Case
The controller, which is the second Switch 2 game tie-in Pro Controller following the Resident Evil Requiem version, is black with golden Triforce logos across the top right. The shoulder buttons are also golden, and a nice flourish of the metallic green down the right side. Again, must sell my existing one for this beauty.
A new Zelda inspired carrying case with screen protector was also revealed, again featuring the iconic Triforce bang in the centre with green highlights on the zip.

Information about preordering and pricing has yet to be revealed, but we’ll be sure to report on them when they do.
