We’ve got a double-header this week from Nintendo. A Nintendo Direct tomorrow (09.09.26) and the hotly anticipated, 30-minute Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct that has just wrapped up.

The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct – 8 September 2026
Where possible, we have included all known pieces of information, and trailers. We will update if new information becomes available.
The stream opened with an epic orchestral playthrough of music from the series focusing on the three main characters, as represented in the Triforce: Princess Zelda, Ganondorf, and, of course, Link.
The Legend of Zelda – Film
“Once you see the film, you’ll understand why there isn’t a sub-title” – Shigeru Miyamoto.
It releases 30 April 2027.
Nintendo Museum
A special history board for the Legend of Zelda will be on display. The tickets will also change from 09.09.26 to be Legend of Zelda themed.
The Super Family Restaurant opens later this year with a range of Nintendo characters.
Other News
In Nintendo Today, the Calendar animations will change, and other things will be added.
A range of Hasbro toys, amiibos, collectibles, and LEGO items will also release as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations.
The Mineru’s Construct Amiibo releases 17 September 2027.
A new artbook releases 5 November 2026.
The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concerts
A range of concerts will take place. Starting in Tokyo in January 2027, with a North American tour in February 2027, Europe in April 2027, and Australia in May 2027.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake (Switch 2)
A brand new trailer was released.
It launches 5 November 2026. A special foil cover art will be available to purchase while stocks last.

Ocarina of Time Ocarina
An Ocarina will be available to purchase from the Nintendo Store. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake will respond to audio inputs such as humming and the ocarina!
You can see it demoed in Mr. Aonuma’s gameplay above.
Zelda Notes
It works with the Nintendo Switch app and it lets you support your adventure in the Ocarina of Time remake. Zelda Notes also tracks your accomplishes, including capturing of screenshots, number of enemies defeated and more.
It will also help you track ‘Gossip Quests’ to earn points and unlock music scores for the Ocarina on your smart phone.
Young Link and Young Zelda Amiibo
Two new amiibos were announced, a Young Link and Young Zelda.
They will release early 2027.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Hardware
A new Switch 2 model, Pro Controller, and carry case were confirmed.
