Gamer Social Club at Play.NYC 2026 – Sunday Highlight

Here we are. Our last day of highlighting some of the titles that I had a chance to review at Play.NYC. It’s the last day of a convention. And if you, like myself, are in your late 30’s/early 40’s, then you can empathize with…body pains from several days at a con. Consequently, it is only appropriate that our final day’s coverage is of an RPG focusing on adventurers…who are a bit older. Yes, we’re talking about Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia.

Before we hop into our last highlight, be sure and check out GSC’s highlighted games from Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

Sunday’s Highlight – Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia

Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia is a comedic take on the RPG genre. We’ll be joining an adventurer, Riker, who is nearing the age of…30 (I remember those days). But in the world of RPG’s, 30 can easily be relegated to “unc” status! And our protagonist is washed-up at this point, his peak adventuring days faaaaarrr behind him.

Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia Riker

Yes, adventurers that are the age of 30 experience other things besides adventure. Like marriage. Taxes. And knee pain (dear LORD, the knee pain). If you couldn’t tell, Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia is a comedic take on our classic RPG-style of game. Riker and his eventual team must set out on an adventure to turn the tables on some evildoers in the land, all while dealing with the prospects of aging.

I think we can tell who the baddies are, right?

As you adventure throughout the land, you’ll obviously need to eat! Well, here’s the unique thing with Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia. Cooking is a vital facet of the game. You’ll have a Recipedia at your disposal with over 150 unique recipes. And if you cook them enough, you unlock – the actual recipe that you can try IRL.

As someone who dabbles in cooking…a lot…at home, you have no idea how much this grabs me!

The Future of Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia

Myself and Candy had the amazing opportunity to speak with Erik, the Creator and Game Director behind Dracanea: The Ragtag Regalia, at Play.NYC. It was an absolute pleasure and spoiler alert – I’m sure that we’ll be having Erik onto some manner of GSC coverage in the future!

But what about the game’s future? Well, right now – the game is seeking some final support via Kickstarter (I backed it lol) and is looking for a tentative Q2 2027 release to PC. And you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be playing it at launch!

My friends, Play.NYC was an absolute treat and the biggest of thanks to both Playcrafting and AnimeNYC for allowing Gamer Social Club to continue our coverage. Also, if you would like some more from our time at Play.NYC, I joined Candy on GSC’s Girl Pod to talk about our weekend!
