One of the biggest games of 2026 is heading to PlayStation early in 2027. Playground Games and Xbox today announced that Forza Horizon 6 will be heading to PlayStation 5 January 26th, 2027.
The announcement is actually a bit of a delay as Forza Horizon 6 was expected to come to PlayStation 5 sometime in 2026. As of September Xbox was still committed to releasing it in 2026, but clearly things changed. With Xbox trying to focus more on it’s own platform, and with games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 and Grand Theft Auto VI coming out shortly, it makes sense to wait until 2027.
With the delay this means that the popular racer will have been an Xbox console exclusive for a little longer than half a year. Forza Horizon 6 launched May 19th 2026 to rave reviews from players and critics alike. We scored it a 9.5 saying “One of the most content-rich games this generation, Forza Horizon 6 adds more to everything that has made the series one of gaming’s most beloved and gives you a playground to have endless fun your way.”
Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 with many editions to choose from. There is a Standard Version, Deluxe Edition and Premium Edition. There will also be a physical version for those that want a physical copy. Pre-ordering any version will get you a pre-tuned Ferrari J50 that will be added to your garage once you start playing the game and complete the prologue.
While the standard edition is nothing but the base game, the premium and deluxe editions will see you get some extra perks as you race the streets of Japan.

First Expansion Also Launching January 21st
In addition to the announcement of the PlayStation 5 version, the first expansion for Forza Horizon 6 will also launch alongside the premium early access period on January 21st. The expansion will be available same day on Xbox Series S/X and PC.
No details have been given on what exactly this expansion will entail, but it will be eagerly anticipated by racers. We will get more details on the expansion soon, so keep your eyes peeled to Gamer Social Club as we will be sure to cover it when we get that news!
