We love cosy games here at GSC. Hidden Cats are my personal guilty pleasure, but we have already covered many excellent ‘cosies’ this year including the lovely Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, Mii featuring Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and the semi-cosy, Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime.
With Wholesome Direct due to take place early in June, the cosy calendar for the second half of 2026 will start to fill up. Already announced to be at Wholesome Direct is house decorating indie, Momento. Previously confirmed for PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2 and PC, co-developers Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio have that the game will also launch on Xbox. The Momento Xbox Store listing has specifies the title will playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, indicating Play Anywhere support.

The game, which has many similarities to one of my favourite indies of all time, Unpacking is made by three parents from Australia. The game is “inspired by life and the items we collect along the way”. Players will move items around bedrooms, solving hidden puzzles and unraveling secrets. Unlike Unpacking, the game evolves based on the decisions players make and you’ll see those in the world around you. Lead Developer for the game, Julian says “at its core, Momento is a game about love, a game about loss, a game about learning to live with our choices, and making the most of the time that we have”. I can feel myself falling in love with this one already.
Momento Physical Release
Whilst the Xbox release will be digital only, there will be physical editions for PS5 and both Switch consoles – note that the Switch 2 version is a Game-Key Card. Pre-orders are available via Silver Lining Direct now.
Momento releases in June, with a final date likely to be announced at Wholesome Direct. Players can wishlist on all platforms and there is a Steam demo available right now.
