Since releasing it’s gameplay trailer into the wild in August of 2025, we’ve been following upcoming Wild Blue Skies. Perhaps its nostalgia or it’s the fact that the game just looks incredibly visually appealing but it has sparked childlike excitement in awaiting for the release. As of the 2026 MIX Summer Game Showcase, we now have the Wild Blue Skies release date. Let’s just say, August is really heating up!
If watching this trailer feels a bit familiar, you’re not imagining it. Chuhai Labs was founded in 2020 by Nintendo alumnus Giles Goddard and he has worked previously on Star Fox! This looks like a great return to something that defined a genre of on-rails shooting for many. Don’t believe it can stack up to his previous works? Good thing you can already try the demo on Steam!
All Bombers are Go
On the Steam page, we also get to learn a bit more about each team member. Bowie is our brave leader of the Blue Bombers and the character players will control. Each team needs a father figure to balance out a bit of the leaders cockiness and we find that in Chuck Barbacoa. Also part of the team is the deadly fighter Roe Whitetail who holds the team to high standards. Rounding out the team is the rookie who runs his mouth and apparently finds himself in trouble quite often. It’s him we hear in the trailer asking if Bowie can keep up. Whether or not Bowie keeps up is all up to you.

Bowie Stray and the Blue Bombers team will be making their way to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam on August 13, 2026. Now that Wild Blue Skies has a release date, will you be wishlisting? Let us know in the comments down below.
