Ubisoft Shares A Deep Dive on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

After the reveal mere weeks ago, Ubisoft has released a deep dive of the revamped gameplay changes coming to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. This deep dive released yesterday covers updates to the parkour, stealth and combat sections of the game. Ubisoft also announced that they plan to have more of these deep dives ahead of the launch of the game on July 9th, 2026. You can read the official post from Ubisoft here, but we’ll cover the key points.

Advanced Parkour Is Returning

Reintroduced in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, advanced parkour is being brought back into Black Flag. Advanced parkour was in the original release of Black Flag, and gives players more control of how they want to have Edward Kenway navigate the various environments of the Caribbean locales he visits throughout his journey. Side and back ejects are more fluid, allowing you to choose where and at what height you want to leap off the wall of whatever building you’re traversing.

One response Ubisoft heard from playtesters is that they want Edward to be responsive, smooth and and keep the flow of movement to a satisfying approach. When Edward falls, he doesn’t stumble, you can also roll after a drop to keep your speed up, not killing any momentum you had prior to the jump.

Stealth Overhauls

Stealth is also seeing some changes to help improve your chances of sneaking around and remaining hidden. The biggest change in the Observe feature, which was carried over from Assassin’s Creed Shadows. When Edward is using eagle vision, you now can tag enemies, highlight objectives and clues, giving you new ways to plan out how to approach mission objectives.

There is also a new dedicated crouch button players can use whenever. Crouching allows Edward to disappear when on top of rooftops, within the bush out in the jungles, and hide behind objects use as crates and baskets. The crouch doesn’t make you invisible, but can help when enemies are on the lookout for the clever assassin.

Combat Changes

With the new release of the game, there’s a lot of changes coming to the combat as well. There’s a lot of new and exciting stuff here.

  • New heavy attack that deals more damage but takes longer to perform
  • new perfect parry that allows you to chain kill up to 4 enemies
  • a new dodge that deals damage if you inflict a perfect dodge

With all of these new changes, are you more excited for the remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag? Let us know in the comments, or head over to the Gamer Social Club Discord to chat with us there.
