Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege is an NES-style 2D action game that focuses heavily on the difficulty often found in retro games, as well as its robust replay value. Luckily, to obtain max HP and max faith, you can use passwords and difficulty levels to your advantage to make this easier. In Saint Slayer, there are two main ways to increase your maximum HP & Faith. One is purchasing permanent upgrades from the Orb Shop, Lavinia. The second way is to find them throughout the game. If you want to find out where these upgrades are, continue reading.

Health and Faith Upgrade Locations
Stage 1: (Lavinia) Max HP
Stage 1: Max HP – hitting a bridge
Stage 4: Max Faith up – hitting boxes on the 2nd set of carriage
Stage 5: (Lavinia) Max Rosary beads
Stage 7: (Lavinia) Max HP
Stage 7: Max Faith – throw your spear to reach the platform
Stage 8: Max HP – just past the 2nd set of lifts
Stage 10: (Lavinia) Max Rosary
Stage 11: Max HP – It’s very easy to miss certain rooms if you don’t take the proper doors, so follow this route.

Stage 11: (Lavinia) Max HP – You can easily miss Lavinia’s orb shop in this Stage if you don’t take the proper doors.

Stage 13: (Lavinia) Max Rosary
Stage 13: Max Faith up – Don’t go up the 1st lift and continue heading towards the left side of the screen
Stage 19: Max HP – once you encounter your first set of broken stairs, take the upper path
Stage 20: Max HP – midway through this gauntlet, continue going left instead of up to reach this box. Use your charge attack to break it, and you’ll see the heart
Fully Armored Guide
Max HP = 15
To get the Fully Armored trophy/achievement, you need a total of 15 HP. While playing in Easy will start you with 10 HP, you can do this in any difficulty mode. Also, whatever benefits you gain while using a password work as well.
You can do it in multiple ways:
Play to Stage 20 and acquire them naturally by picking them up along the way
Or, do a mixture of both. Play to Stage 11, buy the ones you see from Lavinia (you’ll need 60 orbs) while picking up the ones along the way. If you want to farm for green orbs, play through Stage 19 using the password THUNDER. This will give you about 7 orbs per run.
Saintly Guide
Max Faith/Rosary = 7
Using the password THROWER, getting to 7 Faith is super easy. The Thrower mode gives you the maximum amount of rosaries already. However, this won’t trigger the Saintly trophy/achievement. Getting to Stage 4 and picking up the Max Faith upgrade will pop that trophy for you!
