Saint Slayer: Spear Of Sacrilege – A Kind Soul & True Hero Trophies Guide

Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege is an NES-style 2D action game that focuses heavily on the difficulty often found in retro games, as well as its robust replay value. However, once in a while, you’ll be faced with innocents to rescue. So, here’s our guide to ensure you don’t harm any innocents, earning you the trophies/achievements: A Kind Soul and True Hero for Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege.

How To Not Be A Murder Hobo

To get the trophies A Kind Soul and True Hero, you have to avoid hurting innocents while rescuing at least 10 of them. This is a bit more difficult than it sounds because you’ll need to pay attention to where you thrust your pointy spear, and sometimes they can get in the way. You’ll also have to be careful, because you might hurt some that are not aggressive.

Also, don’t forget that a “playthrough” means completing the game from Stage 1 to Stage 21 without the use of passwords that allow you to jump into a specific stage.

A Kind Soul

In A Kind Soul, you have to complete a playthrough without harming any innocents. So, what is an innocent? Basically any that doesn’t attack you. Here are some examples:

Since danger is lurking at every corner, and 95% of moving pixels you will see are out to get you, it makes sense for you to have twitchy fingers. But be careful! These folks below are also NOT your enemies!

Lastly, the most dangerous one that will easily ruin your run for you when it comes to this trophy is these in Stage 11.

Be careful about what levers you pull, or killing any enemies around said levers! You never know whose head might roll!

The easiest way to tell whether or not you’ve messed up is if you see the game saving at the bottom right-hand corner after you’ve made a boo-boo. If it saved, then you gotta start over.

True Hero

For this trophy, you’ll need to rescue 10 innocents in a single playthrough. As always, a single playthrough means starting from Stage 1 and not utilizing any passwords that allow you to start from a specific stage. However, this one is much simpler, as the trophy will be rewarded as soon as you’ve rescued 10, which means completing the playthrough (to stage 21) is not required.

There are only certain stages with innocents to rescue, so avoid killing any and try to rescue all that you find!

Stages 2, 5, 10, and 11 are the only ones with innocents you can rescue, with the best source of innocents being Stages 10 and 11. Therefore, if you have yet to receive your trophy by the time you complete Stage 11, then unfortunately, you’ve missed your chance.

While the best source of innocents is in Stages 10 and 11, it’s also very easy to miss them. In Stage 10, if you keep walking to the left without taking the time to go up the prison, you’ll miss lots of items and innocents to save, like these two poor souls in the image above.

That was our True Hero and A Kind Soul trophies/achievements for Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege. We hope that it was helpful to you.
