2026’s Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 4 is little over a month out from launch and the marketing drive is just fully kicking into gear. Modern Warfare 4 fully releases on October 23, 2026 for XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2. However, the campaign will be available early on October 16 for digital pre-order customers.
Following a solid beta – you can review all our thoughts on the campaign and multiplayer elements here – many fans were waiting to see more about the Korean Peninsula section of the campaign. Now, at XBOX’s Tokyo Games Show showcase, we got a detailed look at the campaign including now revealed antagonist, Mads Mikkelson.
Compared to the most recent Modern Warfare campaign (MW3), MW4’s single-player will be a darker story with series stalwart, Captain Price on the run. Price “now works outside the system he once served. A hunt for revenge draws him toward a weapon powerful enough to shift the balance of power, setting in motion a conflict far greater than he ever anticipated”

The campaign will take place across the globe, with Paris, Mumbai and New York featuring alongside the battle for South Korean city, Hajin which features DPRK and South Korean forces. Price will be hunting down legendary MW villain, Makarov who beware of imminent spoiler, escaped at the end of MW3’s divisive campaign.
Price will work with former series adversaries including Valeria Garza who was a villain in 2022’s MW2. The stylish, suave is the leader of the Las Almas Cartel who Price now must work with to ensure global stability and greater threats.
If you need a full recap on the contemporary Modern Warfare story (not to be confused with MW1-3 of the 360 / PS3 era), Activision have published one on Steam.
