In what is becoming a little too frequent, once again the XBOX Network (XBOX Live) is currently down for users around the world. Earlier today aross social channels, many users were reporting that they were unable to login to their XBOX family of devices including Series X|S consoles and PC.
Now, XBOX have acknowledged the server issues in a post on X (formerly Twitter) confirming that they’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, saying “We’ll update as soon as we have more”:
We are aware that some users are encountering errors when attempting to sign in or create an account. Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue. We'll update as soon as we have more — keep an eye on https://t.co/MGxnmqdcis.

XBOX users are asked to keep an eye on the XBOX Status webpage to check when normal service is resumed. At the time of writing, the ‘Account and profile’ and ‘Games and gaming’ are flagged as having a ‘major outage’. On the support page, issues with logging into accounts is flagged, as is the possibility of users being logged out during this outage. There is currently no explanation given for the outage.
This is the second major outage for the service in just over a month, as the XBOX’s servers were down at the end of July for around 12 hours. The July outage was due to licensing service issues. Just days before the July XBOX outage, there was some downtime for the PlayStation Network.
Following a big week for XBOX platform players including the introduction of the Disc to Digital programme, this is just another frustrating outage for users.
