Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look Debuts on Netflix This Month

The biggest video game of all time is now little more than 3 months away. Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S on November 19, 2026. If you’re even remotely interested in video games, you already knew that.

Considering we have seen just two trailers for the game and the release is just over 100 days away, the world has been speculating on when we’d see more about GTA VI. Finally, we know when.

Rockstar have announced that an “extended look” for Grand Theft Auto will debut on August 27, 2026. In what is a world first, the new footage and information will debut exclusively to Netflix at 12pm / 3pm ET / 8pm UK (BST). The footage will be exclusive to Netflix for a matter of hours before it gets uploaded to Rockstar’s YouTube channel later the same day at 9pm ET.

Whilst what we will see in the extended look is still under wraps, it is likely we will learn a lot more about protagonists Lucia and Jason. The Bonnie and Clyde inspired duo will be tearing up Vice City in the latest Grand Theft Auto. Most will remember GTA V featured three male protagonists, so this is a new direction for the franchise that many are already booking annual leave to play.

GTA VI will be launching ‘physically’ and digitally in November, but the launch of the boxed copy has brought significant criticism for being a ‘code in a box’. The code provides one user the ability to download the game, however Rockstar are shipping ‘physical’ copies one week early to allow everyone to get pre-installed for launch. It will also likely prevent both PlayStation and XBOX’s live infrastructures from falling apart as tens of millions of downloads will take place in the days leading up to November 19. PlayStation 5 ‘physical’ copies in the Japan market will also only be redeemable for 180 days after the launch date.
