After a Summer Game Fest season no-show, it’s perhaps not terribly surprising to hear that Frictional Games’ upcoming science fiction horror game Ontos has been delayed to 2027. The news was shared in a teaser video featuring the admittedly ironic caption “Time is a construct.”
Ontos is Frictional Games’ spiritual successor to its 2015 sci-fi psychological horror game Soma. Soma was the studio’s first title following its breakout viral success with 2010’s Amnesia: The Dark Descent and features similar combat-less survival horror gameplay focused on a main character trapped in an underwater neuropsychological facility.
