The final team for the base roster has been revealed at EVO for Marvel Tokon : Fighting Souls. As many people predicted, it’s a team of Marvel’s most popular anti-heroes.
The Samurai Outriders team led by Ghost Rider will consist of Deadpool, the 4th wall shattering fan favorite who also appeared in Marvel vs Capcom 3. It looks like Deadpool’s media awareness will be heavily incorporated into his gameplay. Joining them will be two characters making their fighting game debut, Loki the god of mischief and Blade, Marvel’s resident exterminator of the undead.

I predicted Loki would make an appearance in the game due to the immense popularity he amassed when the MCU took off. Gameplay wise, Loki looks to be staying true to his trickster nature with sidestep dodges and plenty of moves that look like they’ll make for great set-play.
Blade only just now making his debut in a fighting game just seems wrong. Marvel as we know it today likely wouldn’t be here without blade as he had the first blockbuster movie franchise for them which helped them get out of a lot of hot water. Gameplay wise, Blade looks to get up close and personal as he puts his master swordsman skills to use.

The Samurai Outriders make up the last of the base roster, which includes Hulk and Black Panther as well as The Knights of Doom but that wasn’t the only news for Tokon today. It was announced that an open beta will be happening. As opposed to being PS5 only like previous betas, this one will be cross play between PC and PS5. The open beta will happen on July 24-26th.
