Today, the Japanese game publisher Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy X would be collaborating with another game as part of the beloved JRPG’s 25th anniversary celebrations. While the collab only runs for the month of July, fans can also enjoy a “Waiting Login Bonus” starting from tomorrow, June 27th, 2026. This announcement comes a week after the reveal of another collab with Octopath Traveler: Champions Of The Continent.
From July 1st, Final Fantasy X will be collaborating with Square Enix’s strategic RPG Emberstoria, available free-to-play on PC and Mobile.
This collaboration was announced via the official FFX 25th anniversary website that Square Enix launched earlier this year.
We don’t have many details of what this collab will entail, but we do know that players will receive a “collaboration-exclusive login bonus” in the shape of a ‘Tidus Summon Ticket’, which guarantees the new Empire ‘Tidus’ from FFX. Additionally, a new Ember title, ‘Yuna,’ will also be available, with ‘Yuna’ scheduled to appear in early July.
A separate “Waiting Login Bonus” will be awarded to fans on the fifth day of the login bonus period (July 1st), consisting of the ‘This Is Your Story’ chat stamp; a quote from one of FFX’s other main characters, the bespectacled swordsman Auron.
For people not aware, Emberstoria is a free-to-play strategy RPG featuring real-time battles and floating base-building.
“Set in the trial land of Rengoku, overrun by magical beasts, this is a strategic RPG where you can enjoy large-scale group (alliance) battles against enemy forces and the extermination of large magical beasts. Players can decipher the changing battle situation in real time and aim to conquer the “Tower (Kizahashi)” at the center of the world. Players develop their base facilities using construction, research, training, and resource production, overcoming numerous trials together with alliance members.”
Fans of FFIX may remember that a similar collab was part of that game’s 25th anniversary last year, alongside other collabs, events, and merchandise released throughout the last year. Could this mean another range of Final Fantasy-inspired eyewear from ZOFF? With the official 25th anniversary date of July 3rd fast approaching, we will no doubt get more announcements this year; let’s just hope we get some Blitzball merch!
The Final Fantasy X x Emberstoria collaboration runs from July 1st to July 31st, with the “Waiting Login Bonus” starting from July 27th.
