As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for Final Fantasy X, Square Enix has launched a limited-time collaboration between FFX and Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. The event runs from July 18th through to August 13th, 2026.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is the mobile title on which Octopath Traveler 0, which was released earlier this year, is based.

The event, titled ‘Dreams Created by Hatching: Summoners and Summoned Beasts,’ is a collaborative story that sees characters Yuna and Ryuk arrive in the mobile game’s world of Solistia to help battle the rampaging beasts that have appeared.
As part of the event, players can visit the Ruby Web Shop to receive one free ‘FFX Collaboration Commemorative Seal Box,’ where you can randomly obtain one of the ‘FINAL FANTASY X’ collaboration characters: Tidus, Yuna, or Auron.
For more details, fans should check the Octopath Traveler: Champions Of The Continent in-game announcements.

You can check out each character’s PV trailer below.
As part of the FFX collaboration, players who log into the game during the event will also receive:
- 1000 ‘Ruby’
- 1000 ‘Golden Guidestone’
- 1 item ‘Cactus Ember’ to obtain the Flame Beast ‘Sabotend’
- 1 item ‘Cactus Ember’ ?20 million downloads commemorative accessory ‘Memorial Belt’ 1

Square Enix has always enjoyed crossing over their IPs, as we saw with Final Fantasy IX during the beloved JRPG’s 25th anniversary last year. While mobile game popularity in the West has yet to catch up with other markets, Champions of the Continent was downloaded over 3 million times in Japan alone in its first two days, and that was back in 2020.
With the announcement of the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, and the official anniversary of July 3rd fast approaching, it’s safe to say that the 25th anniversary celebrations for FFX are in full swing.
The ‘Dreams Created by Hatching: Summoners and Summoned Beasts’ collaboration event is on from June 18th to August 13th, 2026.
