While the XBOX Games Showcase 2026 was almost back-to-back game announcements, from game reveals to release dates, we got a single hardware announcement: the 25th Anniversary XBOX Series X console and controller.

Celebrating 25 years of XBOX, with a trailer that harkens back to the early days, XBOX brings the iconic translucent green from the OG XBOX console to 2026. The console and controller will be available together in select markets as a limited edition collection in November, with the XBOX Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition also available separately.
Jason Ronald, VP Next Generation, by way of XBOX Wire, said:
“From the moment you power it on, those details come to life. The iconic “X” lights up in green, a nod to the original XBOX start up, complemented by the XBOX 25th Anniversary logo on the front and other design elements that celebrate XBOX fans and classic hardware designs.”
Since Asha Sharma took over as CEO of XBOX, there has been a shift in direction, with the update to the studio logo seemingly just a precursor of much greater, and cooler-looking things!
