Another month rolls around, and video game demos keep coming out! The GSC team has been hard at work covering every showcase featured during Summer Game Fest, but they have still found the time to pick over a dozen demos for you to try out.
If you’re new to the GSC Demo Disc, it is our way to relive some of the nostalgia and excitement of the best form of video game marketing: demo discs! Enjoy a mix of titles, from AAA to Indie, out now to future releases. There is bound to be something that gets your attention!

One of the principal reasons we started doing the GSC Demo Disc was to try and help gamers find new games to play and developers to follow, especially beyond what they may have already seen or know about. Discoverability in video games is one of the toughest things to deal with, and with more games being made today than at any point in history, it’s always great to see more people doing what they can to help. That’s why we would like to highlight lookingfor.game, a weekly newsletter set up by Lucy James, formerly at GameSpot. The newsletter highlights upcoming PC games and delivers demo codes and playtesting opportunities straight to your inbox! We love it, and if you like what we do here with Demo Disc, we suggest signing up.
Editor’s Note: Future release dates are subject to change.

Enough chit chat, it’s time for the GSC Demo Disc #16!
Motorslice
- Developer: Regular Studio
- Publisher: Top Hat Studios, Inc.
- Release Date: Out Now
- Platforms: PC, PS5, XBOX Series X/S
Explore and traverse a colossal megastructure as you take down giant construction vehicle-like bosses in Motorslice, a third-person action game from Regular Studio.
You play as P, a Slicer tasked with navigating megastructures and taking down these mechanical menaces using her chainsaw, the eponymous Motorslice. Use your parkour skills and chainsaw to traverse ever higher, plunging the chainsaw into exposed metal to ride it up and across certain surfaces. This same technique is how you’ll climb and take down each of the game’s giant bosses for some epic giant-slaying action/puzzling.
Orb drones and brief “slice-of-life” moments between P and Orbie (the player camera) are scattered throughout each level, with the latter offering up some interesting worldbuilding and some… interesting interactions between P and her drone. Can you slice your way to the top of the megastructure?

Swan Song
- Developer & Publisher: Business Goose Studios
- Release Date: Out Now
- Platforms: PC
I first spotted Swan Song during one of the endless showcases last year, and it instantly caught my eye. I’m not a huge puzzle game fan, but occasionally one’s gimmick sparks an interest. I’m so glad it did.
Swan Song is based fully inside a magical music box, which holds a deep and emotional family tale, with the game’s premise being to use musical notes to help the swan reach the end of each stage. You’ll get to experience a few of the game’s inventive mechanics in the demo, and there’s plenty more in the full game. Be assured, the tale you get a taste of in the demo will grow deeper in the full release.

This meaty demo for an upcoming neon-infused Hotline Miami-like is 60 minutes, very much worth your time. It’s tough, it’s fun, and it’s very rewarding.
This isn’t just a pallet swap of the game that inspires it; it has its own mechanics, including the ability to customize your build with a variety of weapons and abilities that will help you tackle the diverse range of enemies and challenging bosses.

Capcom’s classic action series makes its grand return with Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
Set in a dark fantasy-inspired Edo period, players control Miyamoto Musashi as he hacks and slashes his way through supernatural enemies inspired by Japanese ghost stories. Making great use of Capcom’s wonderful RE Engine, this demo allows players to familiarize themselves with the new combat system and concludes in a tense boss battle.
This looks to be a great continuation of their excellent run this year, starting with Resident Evil: Requiem, and is a promising showcase for Capcom’s first big stab at the character action genre since 2019’s Devil May Cry 5.
