After months, if not years, of speculation for Persona 6, ATLUS has finally confirmed what many have known. Persona 6 is real and its color is green. Fitting to reveal at the XBOX showcase who shares the same green color. You can see the quick trailer below.
Interestingly enough, the teaser seems to lean much more into horror than the last two entries in the Persona series. Seemingly the trailer shows us walking through a series of gravestones before arriving at a headless statue. The trailer also asks, “Who are you?” after showing the shadow of a hand reaching out.

The question is asked through a series of cuts showing the letters flashing on the screen amongst cuts of fingers being pointed, and other potentially disturbing imagery. One image that returning Persona players may recognize however is the blue butterfly. In Persona 3, 4, and its spin off Persona Q, the butterfly is Philemon who lives within the realm of the conscious and unconscious mind of all souls. However in Persona 5, the butterfly was Lavenza, who watched over Joker and who we meet at the start of the game. Seeing this butterfly in the trailer may mean there is someone watching over our protagonists again.

The teaser trailer has some blink if you miss it moments that add to the eerie factor of the teaser. It is definitely one to watch a few times to see if you find some new hidden notes. Whatever you see or don’t see, they are promising a “a bold, new standalone story blending heartfelt daily life and new characters with pulse-pounding, supernatural adventure.” There is no release date but you can wishlist it on Xbox.
If you can’t wait for a reveal date for P6, it wasn’t the only news that ATLUS brought to the XBOX Showcase. ATLUS also revealed the release date for Persona 4 Revival.
