Relaxing Hobby Simulator Model Kit Studio Revealed At The Women-Led Games Showcase 2026

Amongst the over 60 announcements at the Women-Led Games Showcase 2026, we got the reveal trailer for Model Kit Studio, a hobby simulator game coming to PC in 2027. The first playtest for the game is now live on PC via Steam.

Developed by Spooky Rabbits and published by Mythwright, Model Kit Studio is a first-person simulator game where you’ll learn to love cutting, filing, assembling, and customising your mecha piece by piece. Immortalise your creations once they are completed in the photo booth, posing them and creating dioramas, and share your favourites with the MKS community.

Under the pretence that you are housesitting for your brother Mark while he is away, you’ll have plenty of time to dive into his hobby of model building, as well as meet a cast of interesting acquaintances. “Explore the environment and uncover a story stemming from a shared passion for model-building. Meet intriguing characters, learn their individual stories, and immerse yourself in a world of dedicated enthusiasts.”

Model Kit Studio Key Features:

Realistic Model Making – Cut, assemble, and customise your mecha pieces in a simple and intuitive, richly crafted experience.
Deep Customisation – Paint with brushes or an airbrush and add decals for extra detail. Personalise each creation to your own tastes and grow your collection as you play.
Photo Studio – Pose and photograph your mecha collection, uploading your favourite models to share with the Model Kit Studio community or gathering inspiration from other designs.
Immersive Environment – Freely explore the loft studio and uncover a story.
Original Models – Build a variety of original mecha models, all intricately and lovingly crafted for Model Kit Studio.

Model Kit Studio looks to be the sort of game that starts slow, but you quickly get into a flow, losing yourself in the relaxing ambience and meditative gameplay. Thankfully, with the game’s first playtest now on, we don’t have to wait until next year to build some sweet mecha.
