Hell Clock Expansion Details Reviewed

When Hell Clock released last year, I spent quite a bit of time with it. It definitely hit the balance of Roguelike and ARPG in a way that felt quite perfect. One of the really interesting things that Hell Clock did was also to tell the story of Brazil’s War of Canudos in a way that was both respectful and interesting. Obviously there were some slight liberties for the sake of the gameplay but they remained faithful to the important details.

So it was quite interesting when the team at Rogue Snail also shared a road map that included an expansion. Originally due out Q1, the DLC was delayed a few weeks to allow players to enjoy their time with a recent Path of Exile 2 update. Today during the Summer Game Fest: Latin Games Showcase we learned of its new release date in July.

Alongside the expansion comes 6 new skills starting with Holy Fire, a classic fireball ready to do lots of damage. Tupa’s Wratch sends sparks of electricity to take out your enemies. Jaguar’s Spear will send you piercing through multiple enemies with a long range melee attack. Lead Sermon will shoot out bouncing lightning shots but does require reloading. Cilada is a trap skill, holding the enemies at bay while debuffing them so you can finish them off. Finally there is Carcara Dive, where you jump up and dive into your enemies.

The skills are not the only thing being introduced alongside the DLC. Hell Clock will be adding over 80 unique items. This can vastly change up how these skills work.

For those curious about the story of the Cursed War, Rogue Snail has shared the following story trailer.

Now could be the time to reacquaint yourself with Hell Clock just in time for the Cursed War DLC. If you didn’t play the original, don’t forget to check out our review.

Hell Clock Cursed War expansion will release on July 14, 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. You can find our coverage of all of the Latin American Games Showcase here. Be sure to check back with GSC for all your Summer Games Fest Showcase season coverage!
