Publisher The Arcade Crew and solo developer Regal Pigeon Games have revealed Chivalware, a unique new roguelite game coming to PC this autumn.
The game blends real-time grid combat with match-three puzzle mechanics. Players take on the role of a “Disk Knight” in a cyber-medieval world, fighting through enemies using floppy-disk-based weapons. The ultimate goal is to overthrow a king who has been driven mad by isolation, all while discovering the truth behind strange glitches affecting the kingdom.
Key Gameplay Features:
- Tile-Matching Strategy: Players must match battlefield tiles in sets of three to earn, charge, and equip their tech-medieval weaponry.
- Real-Time Grid Movement: While managing the puzzle board, players must simultaneously weave between incoming enemy attacks across a real-time tactical grid.
A free playable demo is available on Steam starting today, giving players access to the first biome, the first boss, and a high-difficulty mode, and we have a preview of everything featured in the demo here!
True to its roguelite roots, the game features a permanent progression loop. Players can unlock new items, upgraded weapons, and different playable Disk Knight variants to change up their strategy on subsequent runs. The final game will challenge players to fight through four distinct biomes, culminating in eight unique boss encounters.
The full game will launch on PC later this year.
