Call of Duty 2026 Teaser Live on YouTube Shows Expected Korean Setting

With the XBOX Games Showcase just around the corner, XBOX Games Studio Activision have launched a teaser trailer for 2026’s Call of Duty title on their official YouTube channel.

The title has been widely expected to be a sequel to 2023’s Modern Warfare III (not Modern Warfare 3 from the PS3 / 360 era) and set in the Korean peninsula. It’s an exciting and untapped setting for the franchise, which may bring back memories of the XBOX 360 / PS3 era FPS, Homefront which saw a North Korean invasion of the United States.

Now, the teaser which you can watch live below showcases a Korean food street in near darkness. Shot from a CCTV camera, as you can see in the top left, there is some ambient noise that sounds like general city hustle and bustle. Every minute or so, a seemingly non-interesting person walks by too. Interestingly, there’s no Burger Town, Call of Duty’s ever-returning fictional fast food joint.

I have had the video running for about 15-minutes and a helicopter just flew by for the first time, so I expect there’ll be more titbits throughout the day. No new Squid Game crossover spotted, yet.

Modern Warfare III Ending and Spoilers

The campaign itself is regarded as one of the worst in the franchise’s history, but it did setup an interesting story arc for Modern Warfare IV. If this is a true successor to Modern Warfare III, it is interesting to see what this means for iconic villain, Makarov who killed Soap and escaped at the end of the campaign. In the ending cutscene, Soap kills the rogue US Commander Shepherd in his office.

Call of Duty Game Pass

Call of Duty 2026 is going to be the first time Call of Duty has not been included in Game Pass Day One since Modern Warfare III. The last two Call of Duty’s, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 had been, but since the price reduction of the service Call of Duty will no longer be there Day One.
