2026 has started off strongly for fans of horror games. The phenomenal Resident Evil Requiem is an early contender for GOTY awards, with smaller titles like The Occultist and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss each bringing new ideas to a crowded genre.
Earlier this year, developer Dragonis Games confirmed that their Steam release, Necrophosis would be launching on home consoles alongside the games new DLC. Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is the complete package offering console players the game’s full experience and we now have a release date.
Necrophosis: Full Consciousness will release on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 on May 28, 2026. As we previously reported, the PlayStation 5 version will release with a physical edition that includes the studios other title, The Shore which launched on Steam in 2021.
Subconsciousness, the new DLC will offer players a whole new chapter that expands the game. The chapter ‘leads players into deeper, unseen layers of its decaying universe’, and will be a short narrative experience which the developers say can be completed in one sitting. The DLC will also arrive for the Steam version of the game and can be wishlisted now.
Lovecraftian, Necrophosis is a shorter title that console players can finally look forward to getting their hands on in just over a months time. You can wishlist now on Xbox and PlayStation. A price for the game is not yet listed.
