Originally slated for 2025, Beethoven and Dinosaur and Annapurna Interactive’s Mixtape has finally received its release date, alongside the confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 version, as part of Nintendo’s Indie World showcase.
Announced at last year’s Summer Game Fest, Mixtape is the sophomore release from The Artful Escape developer Beethoven and Dinosaur. The game is a narrative adventure that depicts a group of teenagers growing up in 1990s Northern California, set to a backdrop of licensed music including The Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, Iggy Pop, and more.
Mixtape was originally set to release in 2025, until a last minute delay pushed it to a vague “2026” window. Now, Nintendo’s latest Indie World confirmed that the game will finally release on May 7, 2026, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving the same day.
As previously confirmed, the game will arrive on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the same day.
If you’re looking to kill time until Mixtape’s release, we have a list of five other teen adventures with great soundtracks to hopefully hold you over until early May.
Mixtape will release on PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S on May 7, 2026.
