Developer Beethoven & Dinosaur have sadly revealed that (my most anticipated unreleased game of 2025, sigh), Mixtape has been delayed until 2026. Entering November without an official 2025 release date the writing had been on the wall, but now the delay is official.
Mixtape is a music-fuelled teen narrative adventure about three friends who set out to spend their last night together with big tunes, toilet papering of houses and many more juvenile antics. Beethoven & Dinosaur are the studio that brought us indie darling, The Artful Escape, itself a videogame that made the most of an excellent soundtrack.
On X (Twitter), the studio released a jovial video to confirm the delay, which gives us some tracks to commiserate the postponement with including, Patience by Guns & Roses and You Can’t Hurry Love by The Supremes:
While developing Artful Escape, our 3D artist Mikey, made an oven asset. It was a nice oven – the work of a true pro. He even put the knobs on. And that’s who we are at Beethoven & Dinosaur. We put the knobs on. Mixtape is almost complete, we’re just putting the knobs on. 2026 pic.twitter.com/vyK3wZzVKE

New Mixtape release date, Game Pass and platforms
The new release window for Mixtape is not yet confirmed but we know it is coming to Xbox Game Pass when it launches. Mixtape will launch on Xbox Series X/S, PC and PlayStation 5.
