Disclaimer: All of my puzzle guides posted on Gamer Social Club will be based on the Hard difficulty setting that you selected in the start of your playthrough for the puzzles. THIS IS THE DEFAULT SETTING. If you did not change your difficulty options, these guides should work for you. The puzzles and their solutions vary by the difficulty you selected, so make sure you are searching for the right guide.
The Premise: The Weight of Each Life
You’ve made it out of the elementary and past the scary monster between you and the answer you’ve been looking for just to end up back where it all started: Hinako’s home.
As you make your way through this twisted version of the place you once called home, the horrors of the past begin to show themselves through the trials in front of you. The scales puzzle is one such trial that requires the player to pay attention to who has weight in Hinako’s life. Confused? Good thing I’m here to help you.
This is one of the few puzzles where your current playthrough’s ending is important. For the sake of simplicity, Ending #1 is always what you will need on your first playthrough. Subsequent playthroughs will require different solutions based on what choices you have made. The left and right sides can be switched. The dolls themselves are not tied to a specific side.
Ending #1: Coming Home to Roost (Default)
Left Side: Four Other Dolls
Right Side: Headless Doll
Ending #2: Fox’s Wedding
Left Side: Old Man, Fox, and School Girl doll.
Right Side: Headless and Half-Mask Lady doll.
Ending #3: The Fox Wets Its Tail
Left Side: School Girl and Half-Mask Lady doll.
Right Side: Old Man, Fox, and Headless doll.
Ending #4: Ebisugaoka in Silence
Left Side: School Girl doll.
Right Side: Everyone else.
