Split Fiction is the latest co-op action-adventure game out of Hazelight Studios. That studio should ring a bell, as developers of both A Way Out, and It Takes Two, they’re well known for their co-op games. Not only that, but It Takes Two won ‘Game of the Year’ at the 2021 Game Awards.
Now, following only a short amount of time since its reveal at last year’s Game Awards, we’re bearing down on release. With that being the case, studio head, and all-round delightful guy, Josef Fares, has revealed that Split Fiction has gone gold! This means it is on track to release on 6 March 2025, as previously announced.
As well as the ‘going Gold’ news, EA dropped a new co-op gameplay trailer to whet your appetite for what to expect when the game releases in just over a month.
Check out the trailer below:
Split Fiction is focused on two aspiring writers, Mio and Zoe. They get trapped in a simulation of their own creations when something technological goes wrong. They will need to work together in order to escape the simulation.
From the trailer, it looks like there’s going to be a lot of fun to be had with Split Fiction. Hazelight promise new mechanics for each world that your travel to. In the trailer we see a sci-fi world with a focus on gravity. The trailer also tells us about the side missions you might find throughout the game. Something which Fares really wants to you to play.
Split Fiction is designed to play in pairs. With crossplay and the “Friend’s Pass” you can play as a duo. Even if only one of you owns the game.
Split Fiction releases on 6 March 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
