At today’s 2024 Game Awards Warframe’s Creative Director Rebecca Ford announced we will be getting the newest update for Warframe tomorrow 13th of December.
Back in August 2023 to the fitting drone of industrial metal giants Nine Inch Nails we were given our first glimpses of Arthur wearing what seems to be an early version of Excalibur wielding an AK and Skana, fighting his way through a subway station on New Year’s Eve 1999.
Since then, I have been eagerly lapping up any sort of 1999 tid-bits Digital Extremes have been giving us.
When I think back to growing up in the 90’s I think Britney Spears and Boy Bands. Well Digital Extremes have full committed to every part of the 90’s with their very own boy band On-Lyne, you can listen to their hit single ‘Party of Your Lifetime’ below.
We have also been given an incredible Anime Prologue trailer produced by animation studio The Line. Showing off some battle scenes and the rest of the “Hex”
Then finally in October we got a playable demo of what to expect in the 1999 update of Warframe and it did not disappoint. You jump on your bike, and you just sit there. The trigger is not forward you need to hold forward on the left joystick, weird but off we go on an extermination mission ridding the streets of Höllvania of some Scaldra. The Scaldra are the newest faction to join Warframe and are described as suffering from Techrot, blending organic decay with retro machinery, the Techrot voraciously consumes technology and data. Old CRT monitors, keyboards, and tangled wires emerge grotesquely from the affected environment, birthing entities crafted from these distorted, corrupted machines.
