PlayStation Reverses Helldivers 2 PSN Requirement For PC

In a late night/early morning X post PlayStation has announced they are reversing their controversial decision to force steam users to login to a PlayStation Network account in order to access Helldivers 2.

The original decision dominated the gaming landscape over the weekend, with Helldivers 2 being review bombed on Steam and the developers even telling people to ask for refunds to have their voice be heard.

As we discussed a couple days ago this was the first major decision in the post Jim Ryan era. While this may not be a win for Sony and it’s attempt to boost its Monthly Active Users it is certainly a boost for their PR and being in the good graces of fans.

What happens from here only time will tell, but at least for now fans that disliked this decision can say that they got a win.
